Welcome to this year's newcomers to the Adkerson School of Accountancy team!

Jana Berkery
Jana Berkery became the Assistant Director of Development for the College of Business and the Adkerson School of Accountancy in January. She has worked with the MSU Foundation since 2013 and was director of the University’s annual giving program prior to her current position. The Starkville native graduated from MSU in 2005 with a degree in sports marketing and a minor in marketing.
Krystle Dixon
Krystle Dixon has rejoined the ASAC staff as Academic Coordinator. In this role, she recruits potential students, advises undergraduates and also works with graduate students. She has helped students start chapters of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and the Empowering Minorities in Accounting Association and serves as their advisor. She developed ASAC’s innovative ASAP (Accelerating Students into the Accounting Profession) Camp for high school students. She holds degrees in information technology – a bachelor’s from Mississippi State and a master’s from Troy University.

Dr. Emily Hunt

Dr. Emily Hunt
Emily Hunt will join the faculty this fall as an Assistant Professor. Previously she was a graduate student at the University of Arkansas, where she received her PhD in accounting. Her primary research focus is audit, and she will teach International Accounting and Municipal and Governmental Accounting. She is married to Joshua Hunt.

Dr. Joshua Hunt
Joshua Hunt comes to the ASAC faculty as an Assistant Professor. Like his wife Emily, he had been had been a graduate student at the University of Arkansas, where he also received his PhD in accounting. This fall, he will be teaching Accounting Information Systems, and his preferred area of research is accounting information systems with a focus on machine learning and data analytics.

Lauren Milbach
Lauren Milbach joined the Adkerson faculty in the fall of 2017, and she teaches Financial Accounting Theory at the master’s level and Principles of Financial Accounting at the undergraduate level. Her research interests encompass the economic and financial reporting consequences of accounting standards, tax laws and corporate governance regulations. She also has a strong interest in the effects of post-financial crisis governance and risk management reforms within the banking sector. She is nearing completion of a PhD from Texas A&M University and holds MAcc/BAcc degrees, as well as a BA in Spanish, from the University of Missouri.
Kelly Walker
A CPA and licensed attorney, Kelly Walker comes to ASAC as a Clinical Assistant Professor. He is teaching Research in Tax Practice and Procedures, Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders, Income Tax II and Principles of Financial Accounting. Research interests include tax policy, international tax, federal tax and state and local tax. He has recently published articles in the American Taxation Association Journal of Legal Tax Research and Trusts and Estates Magazine. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Southern Mississippi, a JD at the University of Alabama and an LLM-Taxation at the University of Florida.
